About

Frontlab was started in early 2005 with the purpose of building software that optimizes the production of print material. After receiving funding for the project, the three partners moved offshore to incorporate Frontlab Ltd in Mauritius.

In the new global economy, it has become more and more common for businesses to outsource part of the production. Frontlab chose the more extreme case from the beginning: move everything offshore, and keep the presence in the old economy at a minimum.
Mauritius was chosen for it's high level of education, excellent infrastructure, bi-lingual population (English and French), 2 hour time difference with Europe, frequent flights to Europe. And yes, for its excellent climate. If you are going to outsource, why outsource to a gray and cold country, when you have the same opportunities on a tropical island?
